Oribel Cocoon Highchair | Review for Newborn Position

The Oribel Cocoon Highchair is more than just a highchair. Its one of the only products that truly can be used from newborn-toddler stages. This review is focused on the newborn recline position only.

"Designed for modern homes, the multi-functional Cocoon high chair can be used from an infant recliner in the nursery, to a seat at the dinner table, and everything in between." -Oribel

Have you ever thought of something you wanted and then tried to look for it only to realize it doesn't really exist? That's how I felt when searching for a "baby seat" that was tall, I wanted to be able to have him in the kitchen when I was cooking or just not at the same height as my toddler (see the picture below for enough of a reason lol.) I've done the whole little bouncer on the counter, or pillow lounger but that is only semi safe for a few weeks/month when the baby isn't moving. So I saw a few options of taller baby bouncers but none of them had everything I was looking for or would only be able to be used for another month or so before he would outgrow it. I happened to find Oribel's website and was so happy to find something that was actually designed with this in mind. Someone finally created something that has more than one function! I never thought a highchair would be something I would call my favorited baby product, but this truly is the best thing I've bought for baby #2.

I love being able to cook or do dishes with him next to me and he is loving being able to look at more than the floor (like traditional baby seats or bouncers).  When I am cooking it is just so easy to tend to him and not bend over or worry about his brother accidentally hitting him with a toy if he is in the other room in the swing. Its not always the easiest to get things done with two children, yes I can baby wear but, that's just not the most practical option some days.

When in the reclined positioned it is inclined slightly and does have a butt stopper I guess you can say, basically he can't slip down in the seat into an unsafe position like most seats on the market. (obviously not safe for unsupervised sleep, duh, but great for naps!) A five point harness is included as well.

This has been the only place he will truly just chill, so much so he always falls asleep. No rocking, no nursing, sometimes even unswaddled! I was thinking we would use it when I need 30 minutes to cook dinner but, the fact he loves it makes it worth the $215.00 investment. (which I bought during a sale because that's not cheap.)

The foam pad included with the chair will be comfortable enough (and super easy to clean) for meal times when we get to that point. But, I would recommend some sort of additional padding. They do sell one that I would suggesting adding on to your order since it is made for the chair. I have the MamaRoo Infant Insert already so I've just been using that, I will also usually lay down a soft blanket over that as well just to add extra coziness.
Putting it together was extremely easy, someone thought of a stressed out and sleep deprived mother when they were designing these steps. No tools required just clicking things into other things.
It does come with a large tray, with a liner, that has magnets to attach it to the back legs when not in use. The other neat item include is a small tray with a cup holder for those beginning feedings of baby food or for small snacks later.

We are so happy with the Cocoon in the recline/cradle position and I love that I won't need another highchair as he grows.

Thank you Oribel for thinking of everything!

I also bought this product before becoming an affiliate with the company so this is truly an honest review*
